Mr. Forester has more than 30 years of multi-cycle and progressive experience in CRE and related enterprises. Mr. Forester spent nearly 18 years with GE Capital Real Estate, the international real estate financing and investment arm of GE Capital. Greg specialized in large debt transactions originated for balance sheet, CMBS and loan syndication executions. Before the GE Capital business was sold, Mr. Forester was the Commercial Leader and Managing Director of its Hotel Lending Group which catered to national accounts of public and private lodging companies, private equity firms and large private owners and operators. Mr. Forester was instrumental in growing the hotel portfolio to ~$10B AUM during its peak in 2008, and then keeping it safe through the GFC downturn. During his tenure at GECRE, Mr. Forester was directly involved in the origination, transaction leadership, restructuring or underwriting of more than $12B of funded investments.
Mr. Forester’s professional experience prior to GECRE includes five years as a senior underwriter for CW Capital, three years at Berkshire Mortgage Corporation underwriting participating mortgage investments, and two years as a project development professional at FD Rich Company of Boston. Greg completed his undergraduate studies in Finance, with a concentration in Real Estate, from Northeastern University. He has completed additional course work at Cornell University, NYU and the Appraisal Institute in asset management and investment analysis, real estate finance and valuation. Mr. Forester is actively involved in mentoring and contributes time to the Cornell Experiential Networking Class as part of the mentor faculty.
